At the end of September, we received a week-long visit from Brett's dad, Drew; and Brett's uncle, Ron. It was so fun having them visit us. It had been over a year since we had seen them. They sure had an action-packed week, though. They did D.C. twice, one day of which I actually got to tag along (thanks to my friend, Angela, for watching the boys for us), New York City, the Dulles Air and Space Museum, and other things I'm sure I'm forgetting. I'm just going to post lots and lots of photos, many of which I don't have explanations for because I wasn't there, but hopefully it will give you an idea of the fun they had.
They've arrived!
New York City
I guess there wasn't enough room on either side of the car to open the doors, forcing Drew to climb out the back.
Dulles Air and Space Museum
(one of our favorites)
Brady's favorite thing in the museum: touch screens
Brady and Eli learning to fly
Posing in front of an old Blackhawk. Drew used to fly these before he retired from the Army.
I'm sure it brought back lots of memories.
Eli's favorite thing about the museum: the Transformers.
Drew used to wear one of these snazzy outfits. :-)
Eli-sized helicopter
He really wanted this child-sized astronaut uniform. What an "Eli's Outfits" that would make, eh?!
Everyone should have one of these single-man helicopters. Brett sure wants one.
Getting tired, but trying to keep Blankie from dragging on the ground.
I couldn't get Brady to ever hold still enough for a photo. This was as good as it got.
What a beautiful day for some sight-seeing!
D.C. (the second time)
No photos were taken of the first trek out.
Yay! I got to tag along!
Natural History Museum
Mom, this one's for you.
Honoring our veterans.
Trying to figure out if this was the front or the back of the White House.
Figured it out.
Admiring the beautiful White House kitchen garden
Drew has a thing for garden planting done right.
Stopped for lunch at a trendy Mexican restaurant. Not bad...not bad. Guacamole wasn't worth the $15 we paid, though.
And that concludes their visit! It was really nice to have them here, and I'm sure after all the walking they did, their feet were grateful when it was time to fly home.
